2006 Evaluation!

The 2006 Statewide Summer Reading Program Evaluation is now online at: http://tinyurl.com/hb5rb

If you participated in "what's buzzin' at your library" or "Tune in @ your library," please take a few moments to complete the evaluation.

The DEADLINE for completing the evaluation is Friday October 13, 2006.

A report on the evaluation results will be available in early November.

Before completing the evaluation, please:
  • Gather your participation statistics for children, teens and adults;
  • Consider how your program was promoted and what resources you used;
  • Think about how you liked the materials and incentives;
  • Review your handouts and press releases for the MRLS/MBLC credit line;
  • Reflect on how useful the coupons and online resources were;
  • Recall any specific stories that might help give us a better picture of how the 2006 program was received at your library.
Please send copies of your library's summer reading program newspaper clippings and library publicity to your regional summer reading program consultant. We will compile this information to share with the governor's office, summer reading program coupon providers, and the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners, in appreciation of their support of our program.

Thank you so much for your assistance! Once the evaluation is complete, METROWEST members may request 2007 materials via the 2007 Online Order Form at http://express.perseus.com/perseus/surveys/1734848031/418dda7e.htm

Billboard Bingo!

MBLC has dedicated funds for promotional materials for the 2006 Statewide Summer Reading Program. Participating MA Regional Library System Members should feel free to download and use this graphic to publicize the MA Statewide Summer Reading Program. The Billboard will be appearing in 36 locations around the commonwealth.

What else can you do with the billboards? Play Billboard Bingo! Libraries can download and modify this form. Customize with your library logo, change the cities and towns to more local or regional ones, add other events or attractions, add the newpaper ads or PSA's (credit for spotting or listening!) or add library activities. You can also decide how to verify billboards have been cited - a photo or illustration? a toll or gas receipt? a souvenir from nearby? or, simply trust? For a prize, coupons from our Summer Reading Sponsors would make a nifty reward!
